Water Corrosion Of Glass Micro-Beads. Study By Inverse Gas Chromatography (In French)

Glass beads of similar chemical and physical properties, but of different particle sizes were treated either by water or ethanol at about 70 deg C. The consequences of these treatments were assessed by elemental and electron spectroscopy analyses. Inverse gas chromatogrphy (IGC) was applied to determine surface energy characteristics of the glass samples. It is show that IGC is able to detect surface modifications that are consecutive to the treatments.
