Wasted Opportunity For Householders

The public remains uninformed about household waste management, prompting the need for an urgent educational campaign, according to a report from the Open University in Milton Keynes. Public understanding of the costs of waste management is also poor, as is their knowledge of how waste is managed. The public appear hostile to variable rate charging (paying in proportion to amount of waste they set out), seen by many to be a pre-requisite for effective resource recovery.
