Vitrification Of Iron Rich Industrial Waste

The management of industrial waste is an important issue in the EC, which enforces regulations requiring waste to be treated and recycled. Two of the most popular methods for stabilisation and neutralisation are the incorporation of waste in a solid matrix and its eventual vitrification. In this article the authors present the results of vitrification trials to incorporate heavy metals in the amorphous structure of glass.
