Vision Instrumentation For Process Control Of Float Baths

Working with Adaptive Optics Associates (AOA), PPG Industries has developed a number of machine vision, technology-based instruments to improve process control of the float bath. Three of these instruments will be described; bath glass width ("onion") measurement; glass ribbon width and position measurement; and white light source glass thickness scanner measurement.
