Berli Jucker Public Co Ltd (BJC) have announced the establishment of BJC Glass Vietnam Ltd. With an investment of US$53M,the new glass container facility will have initial production capacity of 180/tpd. Located in My Xuan Ind Park, Vietnam, the facility is expected to commence operation by end-2011. BJC & O-I have had close technical cooperation for a decade & are contemplating to further upgrade this collaboration. With its expansion into the Vietnamese market, BJCs leading position in the industry in SE Asia could significantly be strengthened. Aswin Techajareonvikul, BJC President said:"Vietnam is an important market for us & we are expanding into the market across a range of sectors that complement our business portfolio in Thailand. For packaging, the beverage market, driven by growth of the beer sector, will continue to drive demands for glass containers."
