[Vietnam] Flat Glassmakers To Be Merged By Government

Vietnam's Government proposes to sell the float glass producer Viglacera Float Glass to Float Glass Joint Stock Co. Both companies are affiliated with the glass and ceramic company Viglacera and are Government-administered; Float Glass Joint Stock is a joint venture with Nippon Sheet Glass. Viglacera Float Glass of Binh Duong has lost over $5M over its 5-year life, in addition to its construction debts. There are already 7 float glass plants in Vietnam and another 2 projects are proposed by Nippon Sheet Glass and Vinacomin.
