Vidriera del Atlántico, northwest Spain recently presented its results for 2004 & highlighted several improvements on parameters in its 2004-2008 strategic plan. Vidriera recorded sales of EUR 10.98M, almost 40% higher year-on-year, & reached an EBITDA of EUR 3.6M. The company, in which Portuguese group Sotranco has had an interest since 2004, registered improvements in production ratios, with a 23% rise in output and a 10% gain in efficiency. The improvement was made possible by a fall in the number of reject containers returned and cuts in downtime between production runs. In total, there were 261 production runs, compared to 183 the previous year, & 62 new models of bottles and jars left the factory. The president of Vidriera del Atlántico and Sotancro announced that the company expects to make a profit in 2005 on turnover of over EUR 13M.
