Spain's Vidrala SA plans to invest EUR 25M this year to improve facilities at its container factory in Llodio, and at its recently acquired Portuguese business. Around EUR 15M will go to repairing and modernising a furnace at the Llodio plant, with the remaining EUR 10M going into a new warehouse for its Ricardo Gallo unit in Portugal. Separately, chairman Carlos Delclaux said Vidrala remains open to further acquisitions but noted that the priority for the moment is to "complete the integration" of its Portuguese unit, acquired October 2003. Following the Portuguese deal, Vidrala has a 20% share if the Iberian market for glass containers and annual production capacity of 600,000 tonnes.
