Verescence Invests In Its Largest, Greenest Furnace

French luxury glass container manufacturer Verescence unveiled a £30m investment of a new furnace at its flagship Mers-les-Bains plant, France, shortly before Christmas 2017. The facility's furnace number 6 has a capacity of 130/tpd and is capable of producing around 700,000 bottles per day. The new furnace runs on gas and gives a saving on energy of 15% and 40% less CO2 emissions. Most of the furnace's production will be high quality Xtra flint, which is used in the high end perfumery and cosmetics sector but the furnace is equipped to produce coloured glass should the need arise.
