Valpak Gives Out Rebate

Compliance scheme Valpak has given a total £1.25m back to its members in a rebate on the amount they paid to comply with the packaging waste regulations last year. The scheme, which had an estimated tonnage obligation of 1.6m tonnes in 1998, said the rebate was the result of tight control on operating costs and the benefit of low PRN prices towards the end of the year.
