So targeted has the drinks industry become that there are now glasses of infinite variety and specialisation for every type of wine. Latest on the scene is the "Official Wine Glass" of the Instituto Vinyha da Porto. Designed by Alvaro Siza, the glass has a tulip shaped bowl which allows the wine to be swirled without being spilt. The mouth of the bowl is measured to concentrate the released aromas towards the nose to highlight the bouquet of port, such as spices, fruits and flowers. Canada's Inniskillin Wines founder Don Ziraldo has commissioned a wine glass for his highly respected late harvest wines. Designed by Reidel, it is also tubular in shape and more tapered to concentrate the "nose" of this premium product. The glass was from Reidel's Vinum Extreme line and is machine-blown crystal retailing at $34.95.
