[Usa] Flat Glass Prices - No Move For October 2016

Prices for flat glass rose by only 0.1 percent in October, according to recent Producer Price Index (PPI) data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Flat glass has seen a 3.5 percent increase in prices since the same time last year. The index currently sits at 132.3. According to the BLS, the PPI program measures the average change over time in the selling prices received by domestic producers for their output. The prices included in the PPI are from the first commercial transaction for many products and some services. Final demand prices for construction jumped 0.7% for the month and is up by the same amount year over year. Prices of materials and components for construction increased by 0.1% in October and are up 1.1% from October 2015. Construction machinery and equipment prices were up 0.1% for the month and have increased by 0.8 percent from a year ago. Prices for structural, architectural and pre-engineered metal products were unchanged in October but have increased 1% over the last 12 months. Architectural and engineering services showed a 0.5% increase in prices for October and a year-over-year increase of 1.7%. In another report, import prices for glass and glassware were unchanged in October and are down a slight 0.1% from a year ago. Export prices in this category have been flat for at least the last four months but are up 0.6% compared to October 2015.
