[Usa] Bennu Glass Opens

Bennu Glass, based in Washington, USA, has opened for business. After buying the plant for US$64.8M at auction in March 2010 (the former Cameron plant), Bennu spent an additional US$35M to get it operating again. According to the company, the biggest expense was a US$13M furnace fuelled by liquid oxygen and natural gas, which heats the batch to 2700 deg F and keeps the entire building warm. Bennu plans to produce 100M bottles per year.
