Rexam has won an award at Managing Automation magazine's first annual Progressive Manufacturing summit & awards event in the US. The global packaging company received the 'Customer Mastery' award, which is given to a manufacturer that has "re-thought & re-engineered business processes around customer demand & demonstrated improvements in customer satisfaction." Rexam's internet-based portals that connect customers in real-time to re-engineered value chain business processes were recognised as best in class by a panel of industry experts. The judges noted Rexam's strategy to roll out globally the successful customer centric IT programs that were initially introduced in the N American beverage can operations. Today in N America over 85% of the beverage can customers are connected online in collaborative order-to-cash business processes.
