Upgrading The Feeder To A Glass-Shaping Machine

Design modifications to a Sorg feeder on a line producing bowls, dishes and flasks are reported. Two independent groups of tin oxide electrodes were used in the cooling and conditioning zones, with control on both temperature and resistance. The modifications resulted in greatly improved thermal homogeneity and virtually eliminated ware defects due to variations in wall thickness and ovality.
