Two of Glaston's recently announced upgrade opportunities offer complete performance revamps of older furnaces with greater low-E processing capability, with convection heating technology and capacity increases with additional heating chamber upgrades. For low-E glass, Vortex Pro provides unlimited heating control for superior results. An array of sensors at the furnace entrance determines the size, shape and location of the glass for processing. Each convection nozzle is independently controlled, enabling thermal patterns to be adjusted as required. This feature allows runs of large and small glass sheets, or even different thicknesses at the same time, thereby maintaining a high quality product and leading to substantially increased productivity. Another convection upgrade, the Coated Glass System is selected primarily to move rapidly into different glass grades. This Tamglass innovation for advanced convection profiles the airflow by incorporating a focused convection system lengthwise between all upper heating elements. This provides a thermal stable glass sheet, high optical quality and processing flexibility for both low-E and conventional glass. To increase capacity, Glaston's additional heating chamber upgrade is designed to be a quick, easy solution to increase furnace performance form single to double chamber production. The existing radiation and forced convection chamber can be modified as needed. For more information, please visit: www.glaston.net
