An Update On The Manufacture Of Moulds

The machining of castings is usually made by CNC machines using sophisticated equipment. One of the most delicate manufacturing procedures is the making of vertical bores that allow the passage of cooling air. This article discusses the two main fields for the development of moulds: the possiblity of reducing, if not eliminating swabbing, and the reduction in the weight of the glass container as a result of mathematical models that predict internal temperatures of the surface of the moulds.
