Upconversion Luminescence Of Er3+ Doped Fluoride Glasses

In this paper the spectroscopic and fluorescence properties in Er3+ ions in ZBLAN fluoride glass were studied as a function of chlorine content and dopant concentration. The results show the anions have much more effect on the fluorescence properties. The upconversion fluorescence in visible region was measured using 800nm Ti: sapphire laser as excitation source. A strong green upconversion fluorescence band at 550nm for transition is observed in all samples.
