Unusual Octagonal Bottle Produced

Rexam Glass has been working with UDV to produce an unusual new bottle using a combination of embossing, direct screenprinting and hand decoration. The green glass container has been specially designed for Tanqueray No. Ten, a new super premium gin produced by UDV for the US market. It comes in 750ml and 1 litre sizes. The bottle has a sleek octagonal shape which was created using Rexam's integrated CAD/CAM design and mould production facility, and a strong green colour, to reflect the product's citrus flavour. Additional visual impact comes from the innovative use of decorative techniques. The bottle is made by the blow-blow process, on an 8-section double gob machine. The Tanqueray logo is embossed on the neck of the bottle and a recessed cartouche to which the red ribbon seal is later applied by hand also helps to enhance the shape.
