Ultrabroad Near-Infrared Photoluminescence From Bi/Dy/Tm Co-Doped Chalcohalide Glasses

We report on near-infrared later induced luminescence from Bix/Dy3+/Tm3+ triply doped 70GeS2.10Ha2S3.20KBr chalcohalide glasses. Pumping at 808 nm results in three overclapping emissions bands and 1230 nm, 1310 nm, and 1470 nm. The intensity of all bands can be enhanced by increasing the concentration of Tm3+ and/or Dy3+ ions. The relevant mechanism of energy transfer and photon emission was investigated in detail and is discussed on the basis of the individual intensity parameters according to the Junn-Ofelt (J-O) model.
