[Ukraine] Soda Ash Production Increases

In July 2008, the production of soda ash in the Ukraine rose by 15.3% or 11,500/t year-on-year to 86,500/t (100%, potash free), according to the Cherkasy State Scientific Research Institute of Technical & Economic Information for the Chemical Industry. At the same time, OJSC Crimean Soda Plant increased its soda ash output by 6.5% to 66,000/t & OJSC Lysychanska Soda increased its production by 57.7% to 20,500/t. In January-July 2008, soda ash production rose by 9.8% (to 574,700/t) compared to the same period a year earlier.
