[Ukraine] Soda Ash Production Down In September

According to the Ukraine Cherkasy State Scientific Research Institute Production decreased in September 2009, by 35.4% or 28,000 tons compared to 51,000 tons in September 2008. OJSC Crimean Soda Plant reduced output of soda ash by 23.9% to 51,000 tons, while in January-September 2009, production of soda ash decreased by 32.5% or 238,800 tons to 495,300 tons year-on-year. As reported previously, production of soda ash in August 2009 dropped 23.7% or 19,000 tons compared to August 2008 to 61,300 tons. Production of soda ash in 2008 increased 4.3% or 40,000 tons to 977,800 tons compared to 2007.
