[Ukraine - Soda Ash] Output Up 30.9%

According to the Cherkasy State Scientifc Research Institute, in August 2007, the production of soda ash rose by 30.9% - (18,900/t) to 80,100 tons (100%, potash free). The August output of soda ash rose at OJSC Crimean Soda Plant by 15.9% to 62,000/t, while OJSC Lysychanska Soda increased its output by 135.1% to 18,100/t. In January-August 2007, production of soda ash increased by 8% (44,500/t) on the comparable period 2006 to 603,500/t. In July 2007, production of soda ash rose by 240.9% to 75,000 tons (100%, potash free). In 2006, production of soda ash fell by 1% compared to 2005, to 928,300 tons.
