[Ukraine] Soda Ash Output Up 22% In 2005

December 2006, Ukrainian soda ash exports increased by 27.9% (10,037/t) compared with the previous year, to 46,000 tons; revenue from exports rose 63.4% ($2.711M) to US$6.986M, while production for the month was 19% higher than the previous year, according to data released by the State Statistics Committee. However, compared to November 2005, soda ash exports in December were down by 15.5%. Russia was the main buyer of Ukrainian soda ash exports in December, accounting for 41% the total volume. For the year, soda ash exports increased in 2005 by 34.8%, to 509,450 tons.
