[Ukraine] Soda Ash Exports Up

February 2007 the Ukraine State Statistics Committee disclosed that in December 2006, soda ash exports in the country rose by 3.5% or 1,619 tons compared to December 2005, to 47,679 tons; revenues from exports rose by 3.8% or US$ 0.263M to US$7.249M. During the same period, soda ash exports rose by 6.4% or 2,880 tons, compared to November 2006. Russia was the major importer of Ukrainian soda ash in December. Its share in the total volume of soda ash exports made 68.4%. The Crimean Soda Plant (Krasnoperekopsk, Crimea) is the only producer of the exported soda (A brand).
