Uk Government Unveils New Beer Glass

The UK Government has launched two types of "safer" pint glasses which aim to give pubs a preferable alternative to polycarbonates. The Home Secretary hopes the new design by Design Bridge which will not shatter will cut down on injuries caused by "violent incidents involving glass" each year. Glass Plus looks just like a regular pint glass, but has a thin transparent coating of bio-resin on the inside, making it stronger and Twin Wall is made by bonding two ultra-thin layers of glass together in a concept similar to laminated car windscreens, making the glass extremely difficult to break. Trials will take place with the big pubcos over the next year but there is no direction yet on whether they will become mandatory.
