Tv Oxy-Fuel Conversion And Experience With Noncatalytic Denitrification

Schott Glas in Mainz operates three TV tanks. Until 1996, all three were regenerative cross-fired tanks. The two TV panel tanks used to run with mixed gas/oil underport firing, and the TV funnel tank ran with gas sideport firing. The TV panel tanks had already been rebuilt with a catalyzer system for NOx abatement when the discussion about oxy-fuel conversion just started. The decision was made to go with the catalysator for costs and quality issues. The one tank without a de-NOx device until 1996 was the TV funnel tank.
