Two national media campaigns will be launched this autumn. In September UK consumers will be told to recycle more as two national campaigns get underway. The government's Waste and Resources Action Programme starts an advertising campaign that will include a logo conveying the message "I love recycling", running for 12 months. On 18 October, a series of events and promotions will begin under the name of "The Big Recycle". This initiative comes from an informal partnership of recycling organisations Recoup and Alcan, British Glass, Corus and PaperChain. A Recoup spokeswoman said the Big Recycle would be a more focused promotion, with most events crammed into one week. But the partners have been working with WRAP, which has provided funding along with Valpak, the producer responsibility scheme. Both campaigns have enlisted the support of 200 local authorities.
