Recent feedback from the glass bottle industry has shown that while hollow glass article complexity is constantly increasing, quality targets are also more challenging for glass manufacturers. This is also the case in the spirit industry where new bottle shapes and designs have emerged so frequently that it is a challenge for glass plants to have dedicated and reliable quality insurance tools. In this article the author discusses an inspection system that can automatically orientate articles before inspection.
