Turning Quality Issues Into Competitive Advantages

This article introduces a new device from French-based company Tiama that allows glass containers to be oriented automatically before inspection. The Kompass system, based on the already existing market references MULTI4 (base and finish inspection) and MCAL4 (sidewall and dimensional inspection) allows users to orientate articles automatically before inspection. This compact system (78cm wide) lets bottles enter the sidewall inspection machine with a predefined and repeatable orientation. The Kompass device is positioned just after the MULTI4, so that bottles enter the MCAL4 with an identified orientation. The new devices will be introduced at the glasstec conference this October.
