Turning Geothermal Waste Into Glasses And Glass Ceramics

In this time of economic challenge, the ceramic industry is always looking for inexpensive sources of raw material for ceramic and glass production. Preliminary tests conducted at the Cerro Prieto geothermal plant in Baja, California, Mexico, show that a new source for silica sand may come from an unexpected source - industrial waste.
