Turkish Minerals - Waiting In The Wings Of Europe

Turkey is one of Europe's most populous countries with over 70M people. It also sits on the edge of Asia, both in terms of geography, but also in its culture and religion. The industrial minerals of the country has developed as rapidly as its infrastructure and economy in recent years. In terms of wider importance, the production of boron minerals/borates, magnesite and magnesia and sodium fledspar elevate Turkey to a global standard. However, development has also taken place in other minerals such as sepiolite, perlite, bentonite and kaolin. Future opportunities for Turkey's minerals industry are vast, given its reserves. Should Turkey eventually join the EU, its importance in terms of minerals is likely to increase even further.
