[Turkey] Glass Exports Up 22% In Year To August 2004

Turkey exported ceramic, glass and cement products worth US$1.1BN in the first 8 months of 2004, up 24.8% year-on-year, figures from the Turkish Central Anatolia Exporter Unions showed on 10 September 2004. The country exported ceramic, glass and cement products to 164 countries. 60% of exports went to the USA and the EU, including the UK, Germany, Italy and France. Glass sector exports grew 22.4% to US$351.4M, with the largest portion made up of household glassware exports worth US$194M.
