Italian legislation and the EU norms require improvments in both dust collection and emissions from glass furnaces. Proper design of dust collection systems presupposes a clear knowledge of the characteristics of the dust. Most glass producers have chosen to build plants with dry process treatment, equipped with electrostatic precipitators because of reliability, low maintenance and wide work flexibility.
