Trakya Cam Sanayi Close A Furnace

One of Turkey's leading glassmakers, Trakya Cam Sanayi, said on 18 May 2009 that it has shut down its TR-1 furnace at the Trakya-Luleburgaz plant. Trakya Cam said the furnace has completed its economic life and, as previously announced, was undergoing cold maintenance. The company said that production loss would be compensated by increasing the output of other furnaces. No information was given as to how long the maintenance works would take or how output would be affected.
