Trakya To Build New Float Factory

Turkish glass maker Trakya Cam Sanayi will build an US$120M float glass factory in Turkey, the company announced on February 3rd/05. The company informed the Istanbul Stock Exchange that it would be its fifth float line in the country and that the line would have a capacity of 220,000/tpa. The factory is planned to go operational in the second half of 2006. Trakya Cam said in late 2004 that it would invest a total US$170M in two glass factories in Bulgaria. Its Bulgarian subsidiary Trakya Glass Bulgaria EAD, will build an US$110M float glass factory and an US$60M glass tableware factory.
