Sheffield-based Glass Training Ltd (GTL) is running a course on glass handling and safety on 14th June, 2005. The course will serve as a vital introduction for new workers, as well as being an important reminder for those with more experience. Features of the course are: management of health and safety; storage and movement of glass; manual handling; personal protective equipment; provision and use of work equipment; conducting risk assessments; attendance can be used towards the glass related NVQs/SVQs. GTL are also running a course on "Manual Handling" on 22nd June, giving guidance on the manual handling operations regulations and covering a range of lifting techniques including kinaesthetic handling to avoid muscle strain.
