Toughened And Heat-Strengthened - Two Distinct Processes

Toughened glass must never be confused with heat-strengthened glass. They are both forms of heat-treated glass but their safety characteristics are completely different. Any confusion between the two on the part of the specifier could have fatal consequences. These essential differences have been a focal point in the deliberations of a working group which has been charged with the responsibility of producing harmonised European standards on heat-treated glass.
