This article reports that in the Southeast Asian markets premium segments of products are shifting to glass from plastics. Besides alcoholic drinks, the higher segments of beers, energy drinks and foods are now being marketed more and more in glass containers. Emerging popular products such as fish sauces, formerly packaged in plastics have now switched to glass. The driver is said to be improved lifestyle of consumers in the region driven by continued high economic growth.
