In order to gain entry to new markets and retain share in existing ones, it was necessary for Demaglass Tableware to make a capital investment in new technology in the form of a glass toughening machine. This project was initiated in June 1995 with a budget of £800k with the intention of supplying the markets following the launch date of the new products on 1 April, 1996.
