Thermomechanical Design Considerations For Castable Linings

In order to design the optimum castable lining system there are several thermomechanical considerations that should be addressed. These considerations include the understanding of the type of loads imposed on the lining, an understanding of the true castable mechanical properties such as the compressive stress/strain data, an understanding of the ultimate stress and strain and the criteria for selecting the optimum castable material. Analytical examples are provided in this paper.
