An innovative, air-heated electric furnace for the laminating of flat and bent vacuum glass sheets, has been manufactured by Tornati Forni. This furnace, says the Italian company, has been designed according to the new safety norms of the market, both for the architectural sector and artistic, of medium-sized production capacity. The furnace, designed and studied for its versatility, includes a double vacuum system. The first uses a simple overlapping of silicon sheets which, when subject to a vacuum, provide a sufficient level of sealing to enable the processing of flat glass thicknesses up to around 30mm. The second system has been created for the processing of more complex glass types such as, great thicknesses or curved glass. The second system foresees the use of equipment called "vacuum bag", that requires a resistive sealing of the bag.
