Thermal Insulation Of Glass Furnace Crowns

Lubisol Engineering has developed monolithic insulating materials based on a new pore formation technology for converting a ceramic mixture into a hard porous material in situ by the heat radiated from the furnace crown. Positive experiences over 20 years on more than 50 furnace crowns all around the world have been recorded. The main conclusion is that the furnace crown and its insulation should be considered inseparable parts of a joint project taking into account all operational parameters such as maximum working temperature, glass composition, refractory material, etc.
