Thermal Conditioning Of Glass

The purpose of the forehearth is to reduce the temperature of molten glass from that at the throat to that required by the forming process, to maintain stable temperatures to control the rate of glass flow and to achieve the best possible thermal homogeniety. These requirements are met through insulation, cooling, heating, control and refractory shapes. This article illustrates technological solutions offered by BH-F to optimize these key elements.
