[Thailand] Automotive Industry Grows To Almost 3M Vehicles Per Year

Thailand is expected to maintain and expand its leading role in automotive manufacturing. According to the Thai Automotive Institute, five international automotive manufacturers have bed on the government-sponsored ECO vehicle project. Ford (USA) has also announced the production of a new compact vehicle in Thailand. Ford and Nissan have also planned a joint venture to build small cars in Thailand. These three projects together should increase annual automobile production in Thailand from around 1.8M/vehicles to 2.7M/vehicles.
