Thai Packaging Expansion

Berli Jucker (BJC) plans to invest on expanding its two container plants - Thai Malaya Glass and Thai Beverage Can (TBC) - in Saraburi Province, Thailand. BJC will invest Bt 1.5/BN to expand the capacity of its Thai Malaya Glass plant, including the purchase of an additional 16-hectare land plot. The investment will increase it manufacturing capacity for glass containers by 300/tpd (capacity currently at 2700/tpd). BJC President Aswin Techajareonvikul, said the investment would serve the domestic beverage market, which is growing 8-10% per annum, and is in line with the company's plan to focus on the Indochina and Asean markets.
