Much attention has been focused on tellurite glasses for practical applications such as optical modulators and memories in the shape of bulk or under fibre waveguide form. These glasses have a low melting temperature, high refractive index, and high transmission in the infrared region to 5mm. In addition, TeO2-based glasses exhibit the highest nonlinear refractive index n2 ever found for oxide glasses. In order to find a correlation between the physical properties of these glasses and their atomic arrangement, structural characterisations were done.
