Team Chosen For Canary Wharf Bridge

Canary Wharf Group has appointed design team Patel Taylor Architects/MG Bennett Associates/Techniker to design two bridges for its eastern district. They will span the north/south waterway, Bellmouth Passage, linking Canada Square with Churchill Place which will be home to a new retail development currently under construction. The design is for two swing bridges, enclosed in steel and glass, which provide an attraction by being illuminated at night. The bridges will integrate with the buildings they serve, uniting the two sides of Bellmouth Passage. Patel Taylor's concept thereby provides for a continuous, safe, comfortable and, above all, seamless journey.
