Glass manufacturer Taiwan Glass Ind. Corp, recently announced that it has started mass production of its low-E glass at different production sites, including Taicang (Jiangsu Province) & Chengdu (Sichuan Province), China. Moreover, the company's plants in Taiwan's Changhua Costal Ind Zone & Tianjiang and Guangdong Province of China are scheduled to start producing the new glass in the second or/& third quarter, the company said. In 2011, Taiwan Glass' total production capacity for low-E glass is expected to grow six times to about 36M sq/meters from about 5M sq/meters now. According to industrial sources, the central government of China has required all newly-built buildings to adopt more than 50% energy-saving glass & therefore, all major glassmakers have been aggressively installing capacities for such product. Taiwan Glass, for example, has begun investing to expand capacity for energy-saving glass to increase business opportunities in China's building-material market. Thanks to the continuous flow of orders, Taiwan Glass is expected to become the second-largest energy-saving glass supplier in China over the next year.
