The European Domestic Glass Committee conference is to be held at the University of Applied Sciences at Deggendorf in Germany, June 10-11. The event will begin with a look at the glass factory of the future. Professor Dr T Bartscher, President of the University, will describe the project he has been leading in conjunction with the tableware manufacturer Schott-Zwiesel. There will then be a visit to the machinery manufacturer Lindner, introduced by Dipl-Ing W Lindner. On June 11, presentations start with a talk about EU issues by the director of the EC DG Enterprise, Mrs L Brykman. Her paper will be followed by a look at EU environmental matters presented by Guy Tackels of Saint-Gobain, France. Mr Tackels is also Chairman of the environmental committee of the European glass industries standing committee CPIV.
